Doug Livornese, MD, FACP, FCCP, FAASM
Dr. Livornese is a New Jersey native. He graduated from Lafayette College with a degree in chemistry and computer sciences and he attended medical school at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. After matriculating with his doctoral degree in medicine he went to The Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University) for his specialty training in Internal Medicine. After completing his Internal Medicine training he was honored by being chosen to be the Chief Medical Resident at The Medical College of PA. He then went on to do his subspecialty training in Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine, also at The Medical College of PA.
Dr. Livornese is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine. He is also board certified by the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Livornese entered private practice in 1997 with Monmouth Pulmonary Consultants where he is currently a senior partner. He has been the Medical Director at Sleep Dynamics, Center for the Diagnosis of Sleep Disorders since 2008. He was also the Director of the Lung Nodule Program at Monmouth Medical Center from 2010 to 2017 and was also the Medical Director of Enterprise Clinical Information Systems for Barnabas Health hospital system from 2011 to 2015. He is a member of the leadership team of the medical staff at Monmouth Medical Center currently serving as Treasurer.
Dr. Livornese holds the title of Fellow in the American College of Physicians, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr Livornese’s interests outside medicine include flying, he is an FAA certified multi-engine instrument pilot and flies for the Coast Guard Auxiliary as an Aircraft Commander. His other interests include competitive sailing, scuba diving, target shooting, and skiing.
